(Encouraged reading: Proverbs 9)
v. 1-12 Wisdom’s Home
Wisdom prepares her home for guests. Once all is in order, she calls out into the streets to all who will listen. Those who enter will have fellowship with her and gain understanding forsaking simplicity and foolishness. She states that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” (Proverbs 9:10) When you commune with wisdom you find life.
v. 13-18 Folly’s Home
The foolish woman also calls aloud to those passing by. However, her call is not that of peace and prosperity. Instead, she is loud, clamorous (creating confusion), and lacks knowledge. She implores the simple to come relish in it with her. She encourages sin and entices the passerby to partake in adultery, deceiving them that it is “sweet” and secrecy makes it “pleasant”. As we have learned already those who go to her go to their death.
Application:
This chapter reinforces what we have learned in past chapters regarding wisdom and folly. Which do we desire? Which will we turn to? It can be easy to reply, “wisdom”, but are your daily choices reflecting that you are choosing wisdom?
Prayer:
Lord, help us to listen to the cry of wisdom and turn her way. With wisdom we know that we have life and You. May the enticements of foolish living become distasteful. We wish to live a wise life filled with Your wisdom.

Loved this one. The application is really good and convicting cause though we can desire wisdom many times we act SO foolish.
