The Coming Judgement

Psalm 1:5, “Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.”
Therefore means “and for that reason”; which means we need to look at the previous verse. It says that the ungodly “are like chaff which the wind drives away.” The ungodly are not firmly planted in Christ; their trust is in temporal things. Without having received the gift of salvation and being cleansed by the blood of Christ, unholy man cannot stand before the Holy One, God.
One day we will all stand before the judgement seat of God; there He will separate those who received Him and those who rejected Him. This will be when the ungodly are cast from the presence of God and separated forever from Him and the believer.
Matthew 25:32-34: “All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
Application:
Verse 3 contains a very heavy topic: the matter of life and death, including many who we love. If you are not walking worthy, get right with God. That doesn’t mean fix yourself, that means humble yourself and surrender to Him.
For the believer I hope the main take away is that we are called to share our faith. Hearing the finality of the life of the ungodly and imagining the anguish these people will feel should kindle a passion to warn people before that day comes.
If someone comes to mind, don’t hesitate, go and share the Truth of the Gospel!
Prayer:
Lord, we first want to thank You for coming down and taking on our sin that we may be blameless on the day of judgement. May we, who have been forgiven much, seek for others to have that covering as well. Give us Your heart and Your eyes for people who are lost. May we not sit on the sidelines, and please, forgive us when we have made excuses and walked away when we felt compelled to share.

Complete surrender!
